UV does the same job in a single in-line chamber: water flows past a low-pressure UV lamp and comes out disinfected, with nothing added and nothing left behind. It's a particularly clean fit where the water is already clean and you just need to hold the standard — private supplies, processing lines, cooling circuits — and a recognised defence against Legionella growth in warm-water systems. WRAS approval is what lets you put it on a UK potable supply.
