About the Light Progress UV-FAN-XS
The Light Progress UV-FAN-XS is a wall-mounted, continuous UV-C air disinfection unit engineered for occupied spaces. Because the germicidal UV-C lamp is fully enclosed within the stainless steel body, the unit delivers UV-C air disinfection safe with people present, running 24 hours a day without interrupting normal activity. Room air is drawn through the sealed chamber, irradiated at the 253.7 nm germicidal peak, and returned as disinfected airflow — making this a genuine continuous UV-C air disinfection solution rather than a periodic, room-must-be-empty treatment.
How the UV-C and photocatalytic filter work together
Inside the chamber, a 60 W high-output germicidal lamp emitting at a 253.7 nm peak wavelength inactivates airborne micro-organisms as they pass through. This is paired with a photocatalytic TiOx honeycomb filter — titanium dioxide (TiO₂) combined with silver salts — which is activated by the UV-C to drive photocatalytic oxidation. The result is a two-stage process: direct germicidal irradiation plus catalytic action, working continuously on the air moving through the unit.
Specification and safe, silent operation
The UV-FAN-XS treats a disinfected airflow of 50–60 m³/h and operates near-silently at just 32 dB, so it is unobtrusive in reception areas, corridors and consulting rooms alike. The lamp offers an 18,000-hour service life, and the unit is compliant with BS EN 62471 for photobiological safety. Constructed from stainless steel and measuring L690 × 159 × 159 mm, it can be installed horizontally or vertically to suit the wall space available. As a wall-mounted UV-C air steriliser it keeps floor space clear and remains permanently in place.
Where it fits — and how to order
The UV-FAN-XS is ideal for continuous, low-level air disinfection in occupied rooms: receptions, corridors, small clinical rooms and food-handling areas where air is in constant circulation and people are present throughout the day. It is important to note that this is a continuous UV-C air steriliser, not a particle filter — it complements rather than replaces a HEPA purifier. Where fine particulate capture is required, the UV-FAN-XS is best deployed alongside HEPA filtration, adding a continuous germicidal layer to your existing air-quality strategy. Priced at £750 ex VAT (£900 inc VAT), the unit is also available on a 36-month operating lease to spread the cost. Every UV-FAN-XS comes with a 30-day trial so you can evaluate continuous UV-C air disinfection in your own environment before committing, and it can be quoted in GBP, EUR or USD to suit your organisation.
